National Women's Health Week is in May

It’s that time again... "Your Time."  National Women’s Health Week will be celebrated beginning Mother’s Day, May 9th through May 15th. It’s important to raise awareness about women’s health in order to remind women that their health is important too.

Women are often the sole caregiver of their families.  Women are so focused on taking care of others in the family that they jeopardize their own health. Research notes that when women take care of themselves, the health of their family improves.

Spend some time on you today and say yes to Good Health!

Health Fact: By age 20, most women will have acquired most of their bone mass, only to then lose it at menopause and increase their risk of osteoporosis. Reduce your risk of osteoporosis by doing weight-bearing exercises and getting the recommended daily allowances of calcium.

Remember, milk does a body good!

Recommended Daily Allowance of calcium for Women:
• Age 9 to 18 years: 1300 mg
• Age 19 - 50 years: 1000 mg
• Over Age 51 years: 1200 mg
