National Health Center Week
National Health Center Week (NHCW), will be August 10th to the 16th. This is a time when Health Centers nationwide host a number of celebrations for patients and government officials to showcase the quality health care that they provide for the community. “Celebrating America’s Health Centers. Where Access and Quality care begin,” is the theme for this year. As in the past, SJFMC will have special activities at each center to highlight this week. Be on the look out for NHCW activities at your center!
Get the Scoop on Immunizations in August
The scoop about immunization is that they help us to develop immunity to disease. Immunizations allow are bodies to develop antibodies to fight against various diseases like hepatitis, pneumonia, influenza, measles, mumps, and rubella, and chicken pox, just to name a few. Timely immunizations are important for everyone. Infants, teens, adults, and health care workers are encouraged to get caught up on their immunizations during the month of August. Go to www.cdc.gov to check immunization schedules for all ages and health care workers.
