Health
Education Services
SJFMC’s team of medical and dental providers, nurses
and support staff offer basic information to patients regarding
their health, and the health of their entire family.
We believe that in order for patients to participate in their
health care, they should be knowledgeable about the status
of their health and ways to improve it. Special programs and
classes are conducted for patients diagnosed with diabetes
(elevated blood sugar) and hypertension (high blood pressure).
Informa-tion is provided to pregnant women to help them through
their pregnancy and to assure healthy outcomes for their newborn
babies. Written materials are available for most medical conditions
and diseases, with specific information to help patients learn
more about their health and prescribed treatment.
SJFMC’s educational programs also feature:
- Diabetes Outreach and Education
- High Blood Pressure Screenings
- HIV / AIDS Education and Counseling
- Substance Abuse Counseling
- Asthma Screenings and Counseling
