South
Jersey Family Medical Center Open New Site in the Burlington
County Buttonwood Facility
A new family health care center is now open and taking appointments
in a remodeled wing of Buttonwood Hospital in Pemberton Township
to improve health care for Burlington County residents.
In collaboration with Burlington County, Southern Jersey
Family Medical Centers, Inc. (SJFMC) will provide comprehensive,
accessible primary care services to children, women and family
members of all ages.
SJFMC
is leasing a wing of Buttonwood Hospital from the County and
recently completed extensive renovation to the 3,800 square
foot wing into warm and attractive patient waiting rooms and
clinical areas. The center has seven exam rooms and is staffed
by qualified physicians and pediatricians who can speak Spanish.
Freeholder Dawn Marie Addiego, who toured the center before
its opening, said, “This is a wonderful, attractive
facility available for all county residents. The new center
has clinicians and support staff to meet the health needs
in the Pemberton-Browns Mills area and beyond,” she
said.
Linda Flake, SJFMC President and Chief Executive Officer,
said, “We welcome the opportunity to provide accessible,
quality health care for Burlington County residents with the
support of the Freeholders.”
The center is located in Pemberton because this area has
been designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services as a medically underserved area. This designation
serves as the basis for federal and state funding.
With approval from the Burlington County Board of Chose
Freeholders, South Jersey Family Medical Center applied for
and received funding from the NJ Department of Health and
Senior Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services to renovate and equip the Buttonwood facility.
.
The designated medically underserved areas include New Hanover,
North Hanover and Wrightstown, but clients residing anywhere
in the county may receive services at the new health center.
The center provides services based on a sliding fee scale
and also accepts clients with Medicare, Medicaid or other
types of public or private insurance. Residents with no health
insurance coverage are encouraged to seek needed health care
and may be eligible for coverage made available by the State
of New Jersey. Other services funded by the State of New Jersey
are also available family members, including childhood immunizations
and women’s health services,
Buttonwood Hospital is located at 600 Pemberton-Browns Mills
